Guided by their teacher Sri Shambhavananda, founder of Shambhava Yoga, resident yogis Satyam and Abhaya teach and reside at the Konalani Yoga Ashram throughout the year. Their enthusiasm for spiritual practice and service, as well as their mutual love and respect for each other, make them ideal guides on the path of the Shambhava Tradition.

Practice what you Teach!
Shambhava Yoga was founded, and is run everyday, by passionate practitioners pursuing their growth. Aspirants come from all backgrounds, with different talents and skills. Those who stay, who do the work and grow, those aspirants become students. And when those students have ripened, and are bursting with content, they begin to teach. Teaching is itself a tool for further growth, and the cycle of growth continues its upward spiral. It’s the beauty of an authentic yogic tradition, something that makes Shambhava Yoga truly special.
ERYT-500, Satyam teaches with passion, dedication and a sense of humor! He found hatha yoga to be a tremendous and life-changing gift for the scoliosis of his spine and spinning wheels of his mind. After graduating with Honors from Depaul University in 2005, he moved into the Shambhava Yoga Ashram and has since dedicated his life to living and working there. His teaching style incorporates unique work-books, on-screen presentations and iPad applications in an effort to make the training accessible to all learning modalities. He makes learning efficient, engaging and fun, and his wacky sense of humor will always keep you on your toes!
ERYT-500, Abhaya is an exuberant and gifted teacher. Discovering meditation completely changed her life, and after graduating Magna cum Laude from Georgetown University, she moved into the Shambhava Yoga Ashram to deepen her practice. She excelled in her Shambhava Yoga teacher training and even began teaching trainings at the ashram within just a year of her TT graduation. Her articulate teaching style, sweet disposition, and enthusiastic spirit make her an incredible leader on the yogic journey. She is passionate about her yoga and meditation practice, and has been studying in the Shambhava Tradition since 2010.
ERYT-200, Casey Voigtlaender is an adventurous spirit and committed yoga practitioner. Originally from New York, she graduated from Marist College and explored social work, marketing, event planning, and entrepreneurship before completing her teacher training at Konalani. Within just one month of her graduation she was already teaching 12 classes a week! When she’s not teaching yoga or meditating at the ashram, you can find her hiking, paddle boarding, or surfing around the island.
