Dive into the yogic life and experience the ashram immersion. Rising early to stretch, chant, and meditate, eating meals together throughout the day, and growing together throughout the training. See how the other half lives!
The Simple Life An ashram is a place devoted to spiritual practice. A place people can come and learn the practices of yoga and meditation and also to practice them in a safe and positive setting. Accommodations are simple and the schedule is steady. Your instructors, Radhe and Satyam, live and work here at the ashram all year round, keeping the place beautiful and keeping the practices strong, so that when you arrive you can be a part of that way of life.
Lineage Based Our school of yoga is rooted in a lineage, not in a book. Inside our shrine you will find sculptures and images of the divine, as well as pictures of our lineage teachers. No one will ever ask you to become a devotee of our school or of the teacher of our school during your training. You will be asked, though, to be open to the practices used in our school and also be willing to try them during your stay here. Practices like meditation on the breath or mantra meditation, practices that have worked for thousands of years and have been handed down from teacher to student.
Coffee? Yep. We serve coffee every morning alongside our breakfast, and we often make desserts for after dinner. The Shambhava School of Yoga was actually founded on a vegetarian restaurant and bakery, its in our roots. We also have 3 published cook books (The Yoga Kitchen, The Shoshoni Cookbook, and The Kitchen Goddess). Good food made from the heart is a big part of who we are, and a little coffee or tea does help at 5:30 am.
